Turn around, about face

Just when I was looking forward to lots of locks ...

We have to turn around. The further delights of the Chesterfield Canal will have to wait as we have to make our way south. I have to have some in-patient treatment for a few weeks in September.

So a repeat performance for a couple of days, but then onto "new territory" as we travel up down the River Trent. No not a typo - we will be travelling up the river to go south, the river rises in Staffordshire.

Once off the River Trent we will be back in "narrowboat world" and on narrow canals. It will seem strange to be in narrow locks - that was one thing I was looking forward to on the Chesterfield Canal as the" lots of locks" were all narrow!

So folks, sorry if you were following us because you were interested in the Chesterfield Canal.

Please stay with us as I will try to find interesting things to blog about as we eventually return to familiar territory.

Next blog - onto the River Trent!
