So far, but not quite

Nearly at the end of the Peak Forest Canal

Today was a wet day: a day of two tunnels and one tunnel-like bridge, as we cruised ever nearer Manchester and its great conurbation!

Hyde Tunnel (not wide enough for two narrowboats), Top-O-Th'-Hill Railway Bridge and Woodley Tunnel (low and narrow) are all very different.

The two Manchester roads cross the Canal - the A57 at Bridge 6 and the M67 is Bridge 5.

We found a nice mooring - just before the Lift Bridge (1) which gives us a view over the River Tame and tomorrow we begin a new canal at Dukinfield Junction - Huddersfield here we come!
