Saturday work and play

Another glorious day - sunny with a bit of a breeze.

After a natter with our various boating neighbours, enjoying the sun and catching up with gossip we got down to work!

John went off to clean the car in anticipation of selling it soon and I cleaned the interior of our other vehicle! It was about time as the dust was rather thick on the shelves in the saloon. However as we all know as soon as the fire is lit it will all return.

The canoeists returned as have the walkers - the Waterfront Bar and Bistro are busy as is the canal with narrowboats. Some speeding as usual, others considerate of moored boats. I have said it before but how come it is the "privateers" that speed, particularly those with newish boats or replica boats. Ok not all, but a fair proportion. Most hirers are pretty good, it is usually the crews of lads that are the culprits.

I have just looked at our weather station and it is forecasting rain - maybe, the temperature has dropped and it is becoming more cloudy. I was planning to water the planters on the roof this evening but maybe I will not have to.

Nb Salix Alpha passed us this afternoon - said hello, they are off for a month on the Thames and the Oxford so maybe we will catch up with them. Reading other blogs there have been a few on the Thames this summer - we have followed their adventures with interest!

We shall be putting our canal history up on the web site soon, also how we researched for Epiphany's build which might be of interest to some of our readers we hope, new and old.
