How things change!

We were last on the North Stratford Canal in November 2002

Have a look at a couple of photos and their comparisons! First a look back to 2004.

A contrast to the electrified Shirley Draw Bridge - muscle power and a windlass needed!

Both of these cruises were on our share narrowboat Twelfth Night. In 2004 we went on into Birmingham and I have already shared some of these photos.

In 2002 we had come down the Staffs and Worcs from Gailey and then from Stourport down the River Severn with our friends John and Carolyn. We then eventually climbed the Tardebigge lock flight on the Worcester and Birmingham Canal.

Turning right at Kings Norton we cruised south on the North Stratford and  we went on to the Grand Union, down to Braunston.

We then cruised up the North Oxford and onto the Coventry Canal. At Fradley we turned onto the Trent and Mersey and made our way up to Great Haywood, onto the Staffs and Worcs again and back to Gailey!

Phew, and all in 18 days! We do take life much more slowly now don't we!
