No regrets ...

Back to Brum - by bus this time, not the BCN!

Dudley Tunnel in snowThe snow was still on the ground at Dudley Tunnel

We took a bus ride back to Birmingham yesterday to pick up my prescription. Fortunately, the 126 bus runs along Priory Road, then onto the Birmingham Road and thence to Broad Street. We walked about 15 minutes up to Priory Road and were able to get off at Sheepcote Road, near Brindley Place. This info is for anyone who might get stuck at Dudley Tunnel too!

Jarvis Bridge eastJarvis Bridge west

We passed over Jarvis Bridge, seen here from the Titford Canal, and guess what - it was frozen over, so no regrets .... We were really glad we had moved off this particular canal.

So, we plan to be on the move tomorrow. All the snow and ice has gone, the forecast looks good and we are ready to move again!

On the "looking back" theme, here are a few more Black Country Museum photos to amuse you!

outside loobucket and chuck itWe are used to a "bucket and chuck it" - but not outside!

The one on the left is for the "Back to Back" Houses and the one on the right serves Pitt's Cottage.

There is a small vintage car and motorcycle section near the museum's main entrance:

Back to a boat theme - some views of working boats on display

WB StourStour, a wooden "tank" narrowboat

Stour was built in 1935 by FMC at Uxbridge, for Thomas Clayton carriers based at Oldbury. She has a 15 HP Bolinder engine and mainly carried fuel oil and tar products. She worked until 1966 and was run all her working life by the Beechey family, who lived aboard.
