Old and new friends

Another banter!

It is so good to meet with friends - this was a "proper" Boater's Banter, not a meeting! The term 'old friends' refers to friends who we haven't seen for a while (no ageism here!).

Birthdays are a good excuse and we were celebrating not one, not two but three birthdays! Banter attendees who are our blog readers may not know about the third!

As they are all members of the Canal World Forum (a very useful resource as well as a way of keeping in touch) I will give them their CWF aliases - "Bones", "Wriggle Fingers" and the third was "Heffalump". Happy Birthday to all! A pint and a curry went down very well in a good pub by the Oxford canal!

It was good to meet "new friends" and put names to faces. It was wet but not like it was last year in January!

Bantering is all about swapping stories, comparing notes on cruising, learning from others and having a good time. We certainly did! So a big thank you to Bones for arranging it; and to our generous transport providers without whom we woud still be in Oldbury, Thrupp or Great Bourton.

So, despite the weather forecast, we are off up the Shroppie and onto to the Staffs and Worcs tomorrow, after Mr Teso has restocked our freezer and larder.

Autherley, here we come, turning rightsign post

Those of you who only really enjoy our blog when we are cruising - it is now time to keep an eye on us.

The BIG question is - how soon will we get snow?
