Itchy feet

We will be moving soon

Hurrah - only a couple of days more and it will be time to move. The plan is to move on to the Birmingham Canal Navigation (BCN) for a few weeks.

There is a lot to do!

We have been there before in Twelfth Night, travelling up the Wolverhampton 21 (locks) from Aldersley Junction on the Staffs and Worcs Canal. We only explored some of the BCN that time.

With Epiphany we have time to do more justice to the UK's Venice of the Inland Waterways. Birmingham has more canals than Venice and is not sinking like Venice ( I hope), so we can explore its heritage at our leisure!

I am sure I shall find lots to blog about as the canals are steeped in history and some of the original buildings and structures are still standing.

We indulged in a taster the other day when we watched Waterways Routes DVD about the BCN.

A unashamed plug for Paul Balmer's excellent DVDs! logo

We shall probably be going up the Stourbridge Canal and thence into Birmingham via the Dudley Canal - so watch this space!
