Sabbath rest - on a Monday

Two tired boaters take a rest - we deserve it!

We had good intentions of moving from Tixall Wide this morning. When we woke, after a while, we postponed it to this afternoon!

There is almost nothing to beat Tixall on a sunny morning, a little breeze makes the water shiver and the blue sky is reflected in it. I almost resent a boat passing and breaking the magic!

So - an early lunch and then we planned to move.

But Tixall seduced us, yet again, as we decided to stay put and enjoy the tranquillity and the few boats that pass.

We have moved down the country at almost record speed (for us). Cruising from Littleborough on the Rochdale Canal, to Manchester, Lymm on the Bridgewater Canal and various stops on the Trent and Mersey Canal is a long haul without the odd "day off".

So - yes, we think we will stop for today to absorb the peace and quiet (when we turn the engine off after charging the batteries, that is!). We can watch the swans take off and land, listen to the Canada Geese honking, see if we can hear the owl again tonight and enjoy a really quiet night.

At least we have a few months of winter cruising ahead when we do take things much more slowly!

So here we are - neighbours in front and behind and a lovely view from the portholes!
