A near miss

But now stuck!

We had a near miss coming down the Rochdale into Manchester! There was a fire near locks 76 (Slaters Lower Lock) and 77 (Anthony's Lock) yesterday. Fortunately we were well past and moored at Ducie Junction! The Rochdale Canal is now closed as a wall has fallen into it as a result of the fire.

However we are well and truly stuck for the moment - hence a middle of the day blog!

There was an "incident" at Lock 87, Princess Street Lock, and the Police have stopped us going through whilst they investigate. We left Ducie Junction at 8am and BW had not put the notice up to say the canal was closed that early!

Rich had gone ahead to set the locks and came back to tell us to stop.

So here we wait, at the "mercy" of the Police. We are moored against the boat outside the Eden Restaurant!

Photos later as after a couple of hours wait we are now on the move!
