We can't get away from the Cornish easily!

We come all the way to Skipton and Cornwall follows us!

As we walked to Holy Trinity Church in Skipton we saw this familiar sight - well in Cornwall it is!

Then as we entered the Church porch, John paused and I wondered why. There was a man sitting on the bench there - "Tony ?" says John. "It is Tony?"

Goodness me, it was one of his fellow retired clergymen from Cornwall. Of course they had to meet in a church 400 miles away! A clergy natter followed (I always said Clergy were the worst chatterers once a group of them got together).

Tony was up for the Cricket - tickets for tomorrow. Hmm, I think the game might all be over very quickly. It is a good job he could come sightseeing as well! In Cornwall we call sightseers "emmets". Here, anyone not from Yorkshire is known as an "off cumd'n".

Did I say in my last blog, I wonder who we would meet next?!

More delights of Skipton to come over the next few days! We are being "off cumd'ns" and loving it.
