A service and off we go

Lower Park Marina on the Leeds and Liverpool Canal - a good place to stop!

Lower Park Marina

The weekend has passed - a weekend of fun and frivolity. We stayed at Lower Park Marina near Barnoldswick on a pontoon mooring - electricity and water literally on tap! During the weekend we were able to visit freinds to celebrate a special 60th birthday. This involved two parties! It was great and we really enjoyed ourselves.

We also visited  some boating friends and had a great time catching up with their exploits. It is never dull around those two - sandwiches and yummy cake at Annie's Tea Room, thanks guys!

Yesterday evening we caught up with John and Ann from nb Skylarking, moored a few boats away. Again it was catch up time and we compared notes on our experiences of travelling North.

This morning we are taking advantage of being at Lower Park Marina and having a full engine service (John is not lazy - he just wanted to watch for a change!).

After picking up a gas bottle and topping up with fuel at 55 pence/litre we will be on our way!

Showers are the order of the day weather-wise but we shall do some locks and then moor at a pretty spot for tonight - I hope!
