Is it too hot to blog? You may think so after this!

I am gradually melting away!

My brain and body do not like this prolonged heat. Yesterday evening it cooled down a little and I took these from our mooring

I suggested to John that we cruise at night and try to sleep in the day! Only trouble with that is I would not be able to take photos and my blog would become boring!

Can you imagine it?

We set off as the moon reflected in the watermoon reflection

"Tonight we travelled from Ship Bridge to Hancock's Swing Bridge (9). We woke all the other residential boaters up as we passed at 1 am. I took photos of the swing bridges but the car headlights - such as there were - made the photos really bad.

There were one or two suspicious characters lurking under bridges in Maghull. I think we may have blinded them with our headlight! I was a bit nervous about opening the swing bridges that were right out in the sticks, such as Holmes Swing Bridge. It was a good job I took a torch otherwise I would not have had a clue how to open it - let alone undo the handcuff!

We were a little concerned about the weed at the edges of the canal - it was not clear where the channel was in the dark.

The moon was still our friend (well three quarters of it)moon

However we encountered nothing nasty and no foreign objects wound themselves around our prop.

I wonder how many of the residents in the new houses fronting the canal felt when they heard a boat engine at 2 am! Sorry folks - needs must!

By 2.45 am it was getting light and we were only a few minutes away from our destination, Hancocks Swing Bridge. The big stop sign loomed out of the dawn and we had arrived. Cool calm and collected!"

Yah - believe that and I am a Dutch Man!

Find out the TRUE story soon!

Ship Bridge to Hancock's Swing Bridge - time and mileage I havent a clue in the dark!

Oops, I forgot (how could I?) t'internet works at night too so Waterexplorer will tell me! Now you really think the sun has gone to my head - you are so right!
