We made it!

We crossed the divide today!

So we have made it across the Ribble Link and are now moored at Tarleton. We had a fabulous crossing, sun all the way but a stiff breeze.

We had a brilliant crew yet again! Rob and Janet, friends from Twelfth Night Owners Association came with us and it was great to have them on board. Thanks to them and for their marvellous hospitality yesterday evening.

We seem to have done the crossing in a pretty quick time again - from starting last we arrived at Tarleton first! This was because of the stop on the pontoons awaiting the tide at the sea lock. We were the front boat on the moorings as the 6 boats were breasted up!

One of them with more "horses" overtook us on the River Ribble but then hung back at Asland/Astland Lamp so we were leading on the River Douglas! John says at one point on the crossing he took Epiphany up to 2,600 revs but most of the time she was doing 2,200 to 2,300. Even at 2,600 she still had plenty left in the "tank".

We are busy this evening with more friends - so no big blog of the journey! But I will promise to do something asap!

P.S. We want to go back NOW! But will wait until next year, as as they say - once you have been to Lancaster you want to go back and the same applies to the canal - for us anyway!
