Back in Lancaster - home is where our boat is

Hest Bank to Lancaster under blue skies

This guy shared the towpath with us yesterday eveningrabbit on towepath

Gosh - we had an early start this morning! I have had to check on Water Explorer to see if I dreamed a 9.00 start. I did - it was 9.06 am. The bonus of this being that we were on the move before anyone else and had the canal to ourselves.

As we crossed the Lune aqueduct we promised ourselves a walk back along the Lune Millennium Walk, to have a good look at it from below.

We began to see familiar sights on the Lancaster skyline; it was almost like coming home! At the old dry dock after Ridge Lane Bridge (104), BW boat Tewitfield was moored with its crew weed clearing.

When we were here a couple of weeks ago, we were amused by the Council's rubbish collection method on the towpath. As we approached Moor Lane Bridge (102) we thought that this was a bit OTT.

As we passed they shouted questions - "Where have you come from? Where are you going? Have you seen any swans?" We were happy to oblige with the answers!

So here we are, moored after Penny Street Bridge. We did not want to moor under the trees further along. Last time we were here we were covered in sycamore "droppings". When we arrived at 10.50 we had a choice of moorings, but returning to Epiphany after meeting Craig and doing a bit of shopping the basin was full again. (So it was worth getting up early! Ed.)
