Tewitfield and no further

So we arrived at The End

Proof on Waterexplorer's Navvygator program!laptop

Because of the M6, built in 1968, the Lancaster Canal comes to an abrupt end at Tewitfield. Strangely this was also the terminus prior to the opening of section to Kendal in 1891. Who says history does not repeat itself? What is beyond The End is for another blog!

Tewitfield has visitor moorings - recently changed to 7 from 14 days, as several of the BW moorings have. We were planning to moor but first there was something we HAD to do!

I will explain - in photos rather than words!

My turn

After all that excitement we went back past the sani-station and the BW moorings to the space we had spotted on the visitor moorings.

The M6 is only a few yards away but it is in a bit of a cutting below us. It is surprisingly quiet - I was worried I would have trouble sleeping with the noise. I will tell you tomorrow!
