A comment on your comments!

Just a quick blog - "for a change", do I hear you say?

I just wanted to say Thank You to all of you who have contacted us about our Ribble Link trip via email, on the blog or on Canal World Forum.

We have enjoyed your contributions and offers of advice, stories of your trip and compliments! Hearing some of your experiences I realise how fortunate we were with the weather.

We would encourage anyone who has not been across the Link onto the Lancaster Canal to do so. The "Lanky" is a beautiful canal, even in the wind and rain. We have encountered some really nice people and boaters are all very friendly!

Have a look at the Lancaster Canal Trust's website and find out all about the canal. Their guide - The Complete Guide to the Lancaster Canal is a good read as well as a good map guide.

Lanky Guide

We would like to think that The Northern Reaches above Tewitfield would be open in our lifetime, but there is still along way to go. There is more about the restoration on the Lancaster Canal Restoration Partnership website.

Our trip on the Lancaster will now be blogged - please stay with us as I hope to keep you entertained and informed!
