Wow, what a day to do the Ribble Link

Today is the day - the day we cross the "divide"! The weather is perfect, I mean PERFECT! Very little wind and blazing sunshine.

There were a number of other narrowboats doing the crossing too. We are very fortunate as we have Crew: two Richards! Richard from NABO, who had done the crossing before and has been an invaluable source of info for the last week or so, as we approached Tarleton.

The other Richard is from the Lancaster Canal Trust and he is the Editor of the Trust's fourth revision of the "Complete Guide to the Lancaster Canal": a must have for any visitor! He has never done the Ribble Link, so we were glad to be the ones to rectify that! He too has a fund of knowledge that he shared with us.

At the appointed time, with a certain excitement, we set off towards Tarleton lock where BW were waiting to lock us through. We would see more BW guys during the day!

Even the clouds and reflections were perfect!Cloud reflections

Ah - now I have a problem! I took so many photos that I will have to leave you "in suspenders", as we say; you will have to wait a little longer for more details of the wonderful day.

This is just to make you want more - I will try to give an illustrated flavour of the experience, but it may be in blog "chapters" to do it justice!
