Castlefield Basin - the best place to moor in Manchester?

It has taken me a while to get my bearings here in Manchester but, with the help of a visitor map and Nicholson, I think I have some of it sussed!

Castlefield Basin itself is interesting. Mooring here it feels safe and is surprisingly quiet. I should imagine it is a bit busier at the weekends.

Epiphany's mooring

The Hilton Hotel is one of the highest buildings outside London and dominates the skyline from almost everywhere you look.

In the background above is the restored warehouse and lift bridge to Castle Quay

Left is the bridge to Deansgate Locks that begin the Rochdale Canal

Carrying on right towards the large restored warehouse and Castle Quay the towpath crosses the lift bridge and passes a restaurant.

The lift bridge looks as if it works as the gear is all there

if you look carefully in the above photo Epiphany is to the right of the centre willow tree!
