Heads of Navigation - do we count tails too?

Having just done another "Head of Navigation" I think it is time to total up!

By Head of Navigation we mean the navigable waterways available to a 57 foot narrowboat. Some of the further reaches of unrestored canals are reachable by small boat or on foot. Examples of these include the Ashby Canal and the Wendover Arm, both of which are accessible to the intrepid explorer but not on Epiphany!

Heads of Navigation (of navigable waterways) since November 2006 to date on Nb Epiphany

Kennet and Avon Canal - Bath to Reading
South Oxford Canal - Oxford to Braunston
Aylesbury Arm - Marsworth Junction to Aylesbury
Wendover Arm -  Bulbourne Junction to Little Tring
North Oxford Canal - Braunston to Hawkesbury Junction
Ashby Canal - Marston Junction to Shackerstone
Coventry Canal - Coventry to Fradley Junction
Shropshire Union Canal - Autherley Junction to Ellesmere Port
Middlewich Branch - Barbridge Junction to Middlewich
River Weaver Navigation - Winsford to Weston Point

The map below charts our journeys so far. North is the top of the map!

Journey Progress Map

Our total number of Heads of Navigation has reached 10 and will soon be 11 (but not the tail!) when we reach Preston Brook at the head of the Trent and Mersey Canal.

I wonder what the map will look like in a years time?
