Waterways Restoration

Morrison Construction now has the contract from British Waterways for repair and restoration on canals.  They have a motto "Working together to improve the country's canals"

The sign at Vale Royal Lock on the Weaver Navigation

The reason for the restoration? - embankment subsidence

The wall about to collapse

This is the view from the bridge over the lock towards the bottom gates

The weir is dry

The water inlet is very clear at the bottom of the lock

Apart from the crane and the fencing the top of the locks look peaceful

The restoration is due to be completed by November - just in time for winter cruising! Meanwhile boats have to use the big lock alongside as we did
