Rows fit for Millionaires!

We have walked our socks off in the last couple of days!

These are perhaps not on the usual "Tourist Trail"

We wanted to carry on seeing more of Chester today and have a bit of retail therapy!

So we "did" Bridge Street and some of the Rows. These are balcony shopping arcades over the shops at ground level. There are some lovely independent retailers. Unfortunately we are not millionaires and do not have a large house! Maybe if we were I would have been very tempted by some of the things we saw!

St Michael's Row leading off Bridge Street

A very busy Bridge Street - what credit  crunch?

Coffee and yummy carrot cake and choc orange tiffin at Cafe Latino kept us going! Some of the boutique type shops had sales but we are conservative in our tastes and eventually made for the St Michael brand! Gosh that dates me! They have long been re-branded as M & S!

The other retail giant was our next stop as we stocked up the larder. The one where you can shop and they drop, except we shopped and our arms lengthened somewhat!

We have been surprised how quiet it is on the canal down here. Maybe the Northgate staircase puts other boaters off. Last night there were a couple of "noddy" boats moored in front of us and another narrowboat behind. Tonight there are two other narrowboats and Epiphany.

There are more lovely Chester photos on our photo gallery. Enjoy!
