Tomorrow is another day?

Still at Nantwich

Day 2

A foggy morning after a cool night! Yes, we are still here, our neighbouring boats have gone and new ones have arrived.

Nb Maggie May moved South

Yesterday we saw that Nantwich aqueduct is still leaking, despite the campaign by SOW and locals alike for it to be sorted.

Aqueduct - leak on the left

John did not want to move until he had installed the new 3 dongle. So he sat down and set to work!

It all loaded OK - but "No network coverage", error. John was not defeated. He spent the next few hours uninstalling, re installing etc but still no joy! It was supposed to be active within 72 hours. A strange coincidence that, there is a 3 day cooling off period if we are not happy!

Eventually he contacted customer services and was taken through the whole exercise again. The phrase "Grandma sucking eggs" came to mind! Still no joy!

Then she went through the list of non compatible software. Apparently Hot Sync was the culprit. John needs this for his PDA! The only solution offered was to uninstall Hot Sync and try 3 again. My laptop does not have Hot Sync so in desperation John tried mine! Bingo - we connected!

He has now uninstalled HS on his laptop and 3Connect works - he will try to install it back once we have finished with all our outstanding internet stuff. However, so far the speed is a little better that Vodaphone and we can happily stay on t'internet as we have 15 gigs to play with!

We were finally up and running at about 5pm - an all day exercise. What a saga! We will let you know what happens. Good or bad.

Dare I say, we hope to move tomorrow!
