Windy on the way to Wheaton Aston

1 hour 3 minutes, 2.58 miles, 0 locks

The rain cleared and we set out towards Wheaton Aston. It was extremely windy and at one point my tulips blew over. They were a bit dry so a hasty wetting was in order! We were lucky not to lose them overboard. We had one more short, sharp, cold shower which caused us to put on our waterproof trousers! (That stopped the rain!)

This section is made up of - straight, bridge, straight, bridge, with a couple of interesting additions as you will see!

Countrywide Cruisers have a ramp and there is always a boat on it! I hope everything was put away before this hire boat was dragged out!

Narrow Boat Fitters have grown and tidied up their yard considerably over the years.

They restore some interesting craft

Stretton Spoil Banks is a very attractive wooded section, especially when the sun shines. This time of the year it lacks the wonderful green canopy but the trunks have some interesting shapes.

This then leads to another long straight which takes you to Wheaton Aston Lock

However we were done for the day and moored just before the end of the tree line. It can be extremely windy approaching, going through and after the lock. Tomorrow is going to be calmer – we hope
