A porthole view

Still at Gailey! However we did move today - onto the wharf for David from JD Boats to check the electrics. It has been a day out of summer, time to sit in the cratch and relax!

I am not that lazy as I did make some bread and a coffee cake, swept the floor and tidied one of my roof pots in between relaxing and enjoying the sun! For some reason there were far less boats passing today, apart that is from hire boats and share boats being readied for occupation.

Moored on wharf

Whilst we were moored on the wharf the reflections were amazing. Here are a few samples of my photographic genius. (cough cough!)

Boat exiting Gailey lock

A few £s lighter and a gas bottle heavier we returned to our towpath mooring for one last night. Unusually for us we hope to move at a weekend!

I forgot to congratulate the Staffs and Worcs Canal Society on my blog last night - they are 50 years old this year - a Golden Anniversary! The main celebration is to be a boat gathering at The Bratch locks on 23rd and 24 May. The Victorian water pumping station will be open to visitors with one of the original pumping engines in steam.

Visiting boats should book through S&WCS - contact the Cruising Officer, Colin Cartwright. Hmm ... almost worth a trip, except we will be on The Ribble Link!
