Reflections on Tixall Wide

Reflecting on our stay at Tixall Wide we spent a really relaxing time enjoying the scenery, activity and wildlife.

Our evening reflections included this

Boat activity was frequent over the weekend, I suppose the weather helped! It can be quite windy and there was a fair bit of "chop" on Saturday during the day and even more at night!

This morning Nb Double Six winded on Tixall Wide (as do many boats)

Double Six is one of the JD Boats (Gailey) share boats. All the names reflect the number of shares in the boat - 12 is the usual number!

The bird life has been very vocal! There are a few Canada Geese who make their presence known, even in the middle of the night! The ducks are also well spoken. Spring and the mating season is upon us!

More silent and very beautiful are the pair of swans nesting on the off side. At the moment they are fairly friendly, but when the young ones arrive I suspect the demeanour of the male will change!

Handsome

Beautiful

Spotted this morning, diving for food, this beautiful Great Crested Grebe
