Our garden on Tixall Wide

Tixall wide is a beautiful and peaceful mooring. Although there have been a number of passing boats they hardly disturb us as they can pass a fair way away, due to the "Wide".

Friday afternoon our view was this

Saturday, on a sunny blustery morning the view looked like this!

Not long after we moored on Friday afternoon Coal Boat Roach passed, John hailed it and John Jackson came alongside.

We took on four bags of coal

Hopefully this will last us now until we let the fire go out, already it is becoming warmer and the fire has to be kept low!

Saturday was baking and cleaning day - again! I baked a loaf of bread and a Brioche to keep us going! The boat smelled lovely! John cleaned out the bilges. I know which job I prefer!
