We return to the Ashby Canal

A family funeral can be an ordeal. Fortunately, our families are very supportive and despite the sad occasion we always manage to stay upbeat.

It may seem strange to say that a funeral can be a joyous occasion, but having a Christian faith certainly makes them a source of comfort and hope. It is always good to see family and friends, people we have not seen for a number of years and even people who remember us as children!

We gave Mum Slee a splendid "send off" and now all the sorting out has to be done. We are very grateful to all those who came, took part, laughed and cried with us and walked down memory lane with us.

Cornwall turned on the sunshine and we had a look at the sea! However, the business of the few days precluded any real appreciation of Gods Wonderful County.

We return to Epiphany at Trinity Marina via Banbury. It is good to see John and Carolyn again, but strange to think that Epiphany is not just down on the canal at Cropredy! It seems an age since we were there.

We have much to look forward to. We are exploring the rest of the Ashby Canal with our friends Angela and Chris and then start towards Fradley and really familiar waters! We are now booked for the Lancaster Canal in June and really looking forward to the "Northern Canals" during the summer.
