Jazz at Cropredy

Final night moored at Cropredy

Despite the horrible forecast for tomorrow we intend to say a sad farewell to Cropredy tomorrow and begin our northward journey properly! Once past Braunston we shall be taking Epiphany onto new territory. It will not bs so for us as we brought Twelfth Night down to Braunston one year. what will be new is blogging about it!

Yesterday evening we had a really good time at a "Live and Local" event at great Bourton Viillage hall. We listened to father and son musicians, named "Relative Jazz". Andrew (dad) plays the electronic piano (brilliantly) and (son) Carl plays the sax. Both John and i had our feet tapping and the audience were really appreciative. They travel around to gigs on motorbikes! It is relatively easy to get a sax on a bike, but an electric piano? Andrew has it sussed. Amazingly, he cut his keyboard in half, moved all the circuit boards etc and hey presto - as he demonstrated, it folds in half! I wish we had a photo. If you like jazz, swing and all things in-between go and see them!

We have had a relaxing Sunday: church at Great Bourton this morning and then bits and pieces this afternon, looking out onto a sunny world with our side hatch open.

So it is goodbye to Banbury

And goodbye to Cropredy tomorrow. Lets hope the sky looks bettter than this!

This evening we have a farewell drink with Jane and Graham from Nb Alnwick, with whom we have had some great "banters". Maybe we will be back by boat another year.
