New decoration on our boat

Still moored below Calthorpe winding hole.

Goodness me - the canal was frozen again this morning! It was also rather misty. What a contrast from yesterday.

When I looked out of the cratch window at lunch time I spotted a new decoration at the top. Of course I had to get my camera out to see if I could get a decent photo of it! Try these for size!

Pretty decoration

A close up, can you spot the flies!

Then out of the mist appeared a boat, breaking the ice as it came

The ice was only thin and once Nb Moonshadow had passed the canal returned to its misty, icy state.

However the thaw set in about 3pm and the temperature rose to a massive 3 degrees! Where it has remained, even now.
