Fuel and Ice

This morning I emerged from the warmth and spotted a bit of ice on the canal. "Not a lot". However the sun had not yet appeared and by the time I had walked to and from the GP surgery the ice had gone.

Dusty was on his way down, having gone past us yesterday evening at about 5.30, ringing his bell. In the dark it is not easy to re-fuel so we didn't stir! I was glad to see that he was returning and we could get some diesel.

I went into Banbury shopping and John waited for Dusty. As he was making his way down all the boats it was a fair wait. John passed the time by chatting to the "Alnwicks" and Ernie from Ten Bob Note. Ten Bob Note is moored at Claydon and Ernie was walking the dog!

We passed the afternoon doing "boat jobs" and now a relaxing evening awaits. The thermometer is reading -5.5 degrees C outside, so tomorrow the ice may be a little thicker!
