Something and nothing to ponder on

Some things really strike a chord with me amongst the madness of this world we live in.

father christmas

A Christmas Chord? Ho ho ho!

One mad thing seems to be sorted for the better. Narrowboat index numbers are sufficient to prove a link to a current BW licence .......

Unlike this morning, when it seemed that the number on the printed licence was required to be a nominated boater for the CRT Council. What if you did not have a new printed licence in time?

The same applied to being able to sponsor a nominee ....and to vote? Thankfully the info on the website is now updated (see the comments). We learn too that we (that is providing both of us agree - because it's one licence, one vote) can sponsor more than one nominee - if we would like to, that is.

We expect more madness as the process continues!

Now some sanity - What made music today? This link on our son's Facebook - a wonderful adaptation of an old folk song. Talking folk, on Sunday we hope to go to the Mill in Banbury to hear the Dylan Project: more Folk Rock to tickle our ears!

Mill Arts Centre

The Mill Arts Centre, Banbury

Weather permitting(!) we will be able to walk home in five minutes, as we hope to be moored in Banbury by then.

What else has given us pleasure, not frustration, this week? Apart from our shopping trip to Banbury, John's abortive attempt to play golf with John and Carolyn and the dubious joy of a visit to the dentist!

John with lap dog

We had a visitor who likes laps

It also seems he likes cuddles and as cat people we are surprised at his gentle affection. Perhaps stroking a lap dog is as de-stressing as stroking a cat. (Sorry Brandy, if you are reading this!)

Lastly, this: I found it a wee bit quirky but it appealed to my London blood. So all you Londonphiles and those who like or loathe "maybe its because I'm a Londoner that I like London Town", have a novel look at the Tube.

Tomorrow we shall be leaving Thrupp. Trust the weather to take a turn for the worst, but we have to move - deadlines to meet etc ......
