Fishing on the River Thames

Today, I was interested enough to look up some info on fishing on the Thames.

This is what prompted me, as seen from our bows

Reading has many places to fish from ......

The Thames has free fishing in many places, as long as the angler has a Rod Licence or is under 12 years of age. Lock and weir fishing need special permits and are seen as "extreme fishing"!

I think the River is getting ready for winter and the stoppages, if this craft is anything to go by

We shall have to keep an eye on the stoppages as some locks are closing - I am reluctant to leave the Thames, especially when the daytime weather is still good.

The fishermen are still there - the duck-like form in the bowl is a fire - to keep warm or cook the fish?

Back to boating - We have some more work to be done on Epiphany. Monday sees the start of it. I shall blog about it as it happens, but here is a clue - we are hoping the sunshine lasts a bit longer for us to take advantage of the new additions .......
