Passengers on Epiphany

For the next few days we have passengers - or more correctly, friends and guests! These are very welcome, but this one below was not so welcome!

We did not want duck "mess" or webbed footprints so shooed our passenger off .....

He walked right up to us before disappearing over the side! (when pushed.....carefully. Ed.)

He was a distant memory by the time we arrived at Kintbury Lock. You could be forgiven for thinking we are further west when you see the name of the pub below the lock!

The traffic was queuing over the bridge when we arrived as the railway crossing barriers were down. The rail line is to the north of the canal. I had to concentrate hard to get Epiphany in the lock and not be distracted by them and the gongoozlers!

Once in the lock, we could see that there was space to moor above and the narrowboat on the water point was going to swap it for the lock.

I looked back and saw this - John checked it out, opening it with his BW key. Yes, it was what it said on the door - handy if going down and the water point is occupied!

So after using the BW facilities - rubbish and elsan (there is a pumpout here too) we moved along to our 48H mooring. Once again the trains will keep us company as they draw into and away from Kintbury station! (lovely. Ed.)

My blogs will get a little shorter for a while - when we have friends on board we tend to eat out, spending our time with them and prefer not to spend too much time on t'internet!
