Shipton on Cherwell to Mill Lift bridge, Lower Heyford in pictures

This is a selection of the photos I took on our journey on Monday - a beautiful sunny day.

Shipton Weir lock - a diamond shaped lock with an unusual bridge just before

In the lock

The River Cherwell then joins the canal through a very bendy section

and hives off again under a wrought iron bridge as the canal turns sharp right into the lock landing for Bakers Lock (40)

The Harvest is in near Gibraltar - photo by John!

Passing the Rock of Gilbraltar pub

We passed through Mill Lift Bridge. A glance east and we saw a little of the pretty Lower Heyford village
