Survival?

Here is the proof

Some of our friends across the country (and world!), also possibly some of you (new/long-term) dear readers, are wondering if we are "surviving" in this new ice age. Hot off the press - Oxfordshire is the worst affected area with snow in England, according to the BBC. We have about 10 to 12 inches here on the South Oxford, enough to really sink into and require wellies, as you can see below.

Of course I was out with my camera and have so many snowy canal scenes they will last me for a few years of winter blogging! I think continuous cruisers adapt to weather conditions well, as we are always dealing with the unexpected on our travels! However this enforced stay is much more than unexpected. It is one day a pleasure, one day a nuisance and one day downright frustrating to be stuck in one place for so long.

So how many days have we been here? Totting up, it is 29 days, so far. BW are now advising boaters not to move as we may damage other boats. Any queries about us and I shall send them hundreds of photos! Many of narrowboats covered in inches of snow.

So here are our two "locals" - both very good pubs! The Jolly Boatman (on right of photo) and The Boat Inn

This is my favourite photo of today, marks out of 10 please. A new reality show for you to follow now Strictly Come Dancing is over! As usual, click on the picture to see the large version.
