Far, far away

Or so it seems now!

As you may have gathered Epiphany has now moved - at last! All the "Tooleying" has been finished, well almost! The last few bits and pieces were completed whilst we enjoyed ourselves in the "home of our fathers". Actually that should read "home of John's mother and father" and where most of our married life has been spent.

tall ship and Falmouth harbour

St Mawes on the Roseland Peninsular and opposite Falmouth, was our holiday home - very photogenic! However my "moody" photos are from the Castle area where we watched this training Tall Ship come into the Carrick Roads and into Falmouth harbour.

This is the area known as the Carrick Roads, guarded by St Mawes Castle on one side and Pendennis Castle on the other. On a good day the view is to the Helford River and beyond.

castle cannons to Pendennis

St Mawes Castle defends Falmouth Bay, King Henry VIII built it on the Roseland Peninsular and its cannons face the bay.

From the south coast we travelled to the north coast - visiting Portreath, Newquay and beautiful St Ives. Here are a few more photos for your enjoyment ....

Portreath - the surf was up and crashing against the harbour wall. We managed to catch one brave surfer!

Newquay - we spent some time on Towan Head which juts out opposite the harbour and overlooks Newquay Bay and Fistral Beach on the other side.

St Ives really turned the sun on for us in the late afternoon - the Harbour was our destination! The rain clouds kept away until much later!
