More photos of the Hatton Flight

Backwards!

It may not look like it, but this is narrowboat Petroc on the Grand Union Canal, reversing to turn southward at Kingswood Junction. The clump of grassin the foreground  is floating mid stream, presumably having broken away from the bank - as they do!

Yes, I've actually downloaded the photos, at last; so before we start up the next flight of locks at Radford Semele, here are a few of the photos I took on the way down. You can see the others on the Photo Gallery.

As I approached Shrewley Tunnels, I could see the headlight of a boat, so I hung around wating, while I took in the Horse Tunnel to the upper right of the boat tunnel. Once they emerged, I entered the latter

You can just make out our "bank" crew waiting patiently in the shadows at Hatton Top Lock, and here is John in full flow:

There are sights to be spotted on the way - the classic BW Van outside their Hatton offices and the Dragonfly sculpture:

Then there are the classic Hatton views:

And I conclude with two more pictures: Petroc skilfully avoiding a boat coming up and finally the Saltisford Arm.

We turned left here, on our way to Radford Semele for a few days.
