Bow thrusters? Who needs them?

Epiphany has no bow thrusters

Partly through a limited budget and partly because we felt that we would need them so seldom, we did not have bow thrusters fitted when narrowboat Epiphany was built.

Winding in the Great Northern Basin at Langley Mill was a tight fit this morning, but we were photographed and videoed for posterity! My thanks to Gill from narrowboat Petroc for the photos and video. I have made them into a short lesson on how to wind, in a wind, without bow thrusters. Or at least - this is how we did it!
