Theale, Church and R & R

Did I say Sunday was to be a rest day?

Well it was of sorts - a rest from cruising and a different type of day!

The day started with breakfast in bed, provided by my sous chef! Then a three quarter mile walk into Theale for the 10.00 church service at Holy Trinity. It was a friendly church, we were made very welcome and enjoyed the service. The church is supposedly modelled on Salisbury Cathedral. I will leave you to judge for yourself!

Calling into the Co-op (yet again, they are popular in this area!) for fruit, we then walked back to the boat. Lunch was then provided by my sous chef again as I put my feet up! John's turn to put his feet up then as I made bread and half a dozen rolls. Due to the mess I then swept through - whilst doing the galley it takes no time to do the rest.

Disaster struck - a crashed laptop. So my resident computer expert spent the next 3 hours restoring it for me.
Meanwhile I completed 2 crosswords, 2 word search and 2 codebreakers.

Next it was onto the new chimney and a bit of brass cleaning ready for John to put on the chinese hat and place on the roof tomorrow.

I then caught up on my emails, blogs etc on my now working laptop. John had been regaling me with the latest form the EA on the rivers etc. At least we have until Friday to make up our minds whether to risk more that the link between the Kennet and Avon and the Oxford.

Then the sous chef became Master Chef and cooked the evening meal, a glass of vino and we are both now relaxed and replete!

Tomorrow we are off again heading Reading-ward.

Good News:
"He's here, he's ours, its ....." YES, Wogan is on holiday and Johnnie Walker is back in the morning so I won't be nagging John to turn the radio down tomorrow
