Gremlins? PDF Print

Perhaps we should really call them “gremlins”
Gremlins attacked our “tech” today! As we travelled we had a couple of problems with our internet connection. We keep connected so we can use Water Explorer to track our progress and I can geoset my photos when I download them from my camera.
Losing the signal as we travel is not unusual and is easily corrected by a quick trip down below to the “server” to reconnect!
However once moored up this afternoon the gremlins attacked again on a number of fronts! First, we were unable to establish an internet connection at all. Secondly my laptop kept telling me that one of my USB ports was U/S. John got that sorted but then my laptop decided to pretend to die. I was due to back it up this evening - it must have known!
We do have a very good satellite signal for the TV, so all is not lost. With a bit of perseverance, John was able to establish an intermittent internet connection. But it comes and goes – more goes than comes I am afraid!
My laptop needed to cool down, for some reason it had become over excited! Thankfully it is OK now and I have backed up everything to date! As for the internet – that is still a problem.
So no photos today and only a quick resume of our cruise.
We left Market Drayton after filling up at a very slow tap and then tackled the Adderley flight of 5 locks. These are well maintained and the BW chappie was clearing the by-washes and opened the top sluice to wash us down!
We decided to do a few of the Audlem locks too before mooring up. It is now pouring with the promised rain, so a quiet evening reading and TV viewing is called for. So I shall forget t'internet – after I have managed to upload this!
