Stourbridge to Merry Hill
Yes, I know we left you at Wordsley Junction yesterday, but we had too many photos to label and too much to write in the time before bed. Then this morning we were off early (for us) and another clutch of photos to be labelled means we are going to lag a bit behind.
But do not fear, the story will unfold in words and pictures - normal service will be resumed as soon as possible.
In a nutshell, then - we left Stourbridge basin just before 9, and by 2.15 we were at Merry Hill, having climbed the Stourbridge Flight, diverted up the Fens Branch and on to the Stourbridge Extension Canal, before returning to climb the eight locks of the Delph Nine, not even stopping at the Tenth Lock.
Oh and we couldn't have done it without Paul from Waterway Routes and Stephen from St. Andrew's Netherton and St. Peter's, Darby End. Thank you dear friends.
Confused? You won't be if you tune in again tomorrow - same channel!
5 hours 18 minutes, 5.4 miles, 24 locks
